Terms of Use

Effective 7 October 2026.

These Terms apply to your use of the Verexa service and this website. Verexa is provided by WASIFIC PTY LTD (ACN 702 930 425, ABN 28 702 930 425), trading under the registered business name Verexa. This website is operated by WASIFIC PTY LTD (ACN 702 930 425, ABN 28 702 930 425).

Please read them together with our Privacy Notice. Seviact is provided under its own agreement.

Terms

  1. 1. Definitions

    In these Terms:

    • “we”, “us” and “our” means WASIFIC PTY LTD, which provides Verexa under the registered business name Verexa and operates this website;
    • “Verexa” means the Verexa web application at verexa.wasific.com, the Verexa Secure Browser and the related services we provide;
    • “website” means wasific.com.au;
    • “institution” means a school, university, college, organisation or independent lecturer that provides assessments through Verexa;
    • “user” means anyone who uses Verexa, including lecturers, administrators and students (candidates);
    • “account” means a user's Verexa account, including any sign-in method connected to it;
    • “content” means questions, answers, files, comments and other material supplied to Verexa by an institution or user;
    • “third-party service” means a service we do not operate, such as Google sign-in, a learning-management system or an AI model provider.
  2. 2. Acceptance of these Terms

    By creating an account, signing in to or otherwise using Verexa, or using this website, you accept these Terms. If you use Verexa on behalf of an institution, you confirm you have authority to bind it. If you do not agree, do not use Verexa or this website.

    If an institution has signed a separate written agreement with us (for example a pilot agreement, subscription agreement or data processing terms), that agreement applies to that institution's use of Verexa, and prevails over these Terms to the extent of any inconsistency.

  3. 3. Eligibility and authorised use

    Verexa is for use by people authorised by an institution, for example staff who have been given an account and students who have been enrolled or invited to an assessment. You may use Verexa only in the way you have been authorised and only if you can lawfully accept these Terms. If you are not old enough to enter a contract on your own, your institution is responsible for authorising and supervising your use.

  4. 4. Accounts and account security

    You must give accurate information, keep your sign-in credentials confidential and not share your account. You are responsible for activity under your account unless it results from our failure to take reasonable care. Tell us promptly at support@wasific.com if you suspect unauthorised use. You may sign in with an email address and password and, if you choose, also with a connected Google account (see clause 12). We may require you to reset a password, or may temporarily refuse sign-in attempts, to protect an account or the service.

  5. 5. Institutional accounts, organisations, roles and permissions

    An institution's workspace is administered by the institution. Administrators and lecturers decide who has an account, which role each person has (for example administrator, lecturer or student) and which courses and assessments each person can access. What a user can do in Verexa depends on the role and permissions the institution has given them. We are not responsible for an institution's decisions about who holds a role.

  6. 6. Lecturer, administrator and student responsibilities

    Where they apply:

    • Lecturers and administrators must configure assessments and optional integrity features appropriately and lawfully, make sure students are properly informed, review any evidence fairly, and finalise marks and decisions themselves.
    • Students must sit assessments honestly, follow the instructions and rules set for each assessment, use only their own account, and tell their institution about technical problems promptly.
    • Everyone must comply with their institution's policies and with these Terms.
  7. 7. Examination and assessment use

    Verexa helps institutions deliver assessments, including online and secure-browser assessments, and supports human review of how an attempt went. Assessment rules, permitted materials, time limits and accommodations are set by the institution for each assessment. Optional features, such as camera or screen checks, are used only where the institution has enabled them for that assessment and told students what is collected.

  8. 8. Verexa's role as an assessment technology platform

    Verexa is a technology platform. It records signals that authorised staff can review. It does not decide whether anyone has breached academic-integrity rules, and information it shows (such as an event, a flag or an AI-assisted suggestion) is not proof of misconduct. Those decisions are made by people at the institution.

  9. 9. Responsibility of institutions

    The institution is responsible for:

    • assessment design and the rules that apply to each assessment;
    • academic decisions, including marks, grades and outcomes;
    • misconduct decisions, investigations, procedural fairness and appeals;
    • communications with its students, including telling them what is collected and why;
    • using Verexa lawfully, including having any legal basis, consent or notice it needs for the features it enables, and meeting its own privacy, education and records obligations.
  10. 10. Acceptable use

    You must use Verexa and this website lawfully, honestly and with respect for other people, and only for their intended purpose of delivering, taking, reviewing and administering assessments and learning activities.

  11. 11. Prohibited use

    You must not:

    • attempt to bypass, disable, tamper with or evade any exam control, monitoring feature or secure-browser restriction;
    • gain or attempt to gain unauthorised access to Verexa, another person's account, or data that is not yours;
    • use another person's account or credentials, or let someone else use yours;
    • test the security of Verexa, scan it for vulnerabilities, or attempt to overload it, without our prior written permission;
    • interfere with the service or other users, or introduce malware;
    • copy, share or publish assessment questions or other assessment material in breach of the assessment rules;
    • reverse engineer or copy the Verexa Secure Browser or Verexa, except as the law permits;
    • use Verexa to break the law or infringe anyone's rights.
  12. 12. Google and other third-party authentication

    You may connect a Google account to an existing Verexa account as an additional way to sign in. This is optional; you can always use your email and password. Connecting Google does not create an account or give you a role, an institution or any course or assessment permission. Google is a third-party service governed by Google's own terms and privacy policy; we do not control it and are not responsible for its availability or conduct. What we receive from Google, what we store and how you disconnect Google are described in our Privacy Notice at https://wasific.com.au/privacy. You can disconnect Google at any time from Account security.

  13. 13. User and institution content

    As between you and us, the institution or user who supplies content keeps ownership of it. You give us a non-exclusive licence to host, process, copy, display and transmit that content, and to share it with the people the institution authorises, only as needed to provide and secure Verexa. You promise that you have the rights and permissions needed to supply it and that it is lawful and does not infringe anyone's rights. We may remove or restrict content that is unlawful or breaches these Terms.

  14. 14. Intellectual property

    Verexa, this website, the Verexa and Wasific names and branding, and the software, design and documentation, belong to us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Verexa and to install and run the Verexa Secure Browser for the purpose of taking or administering assessments as authorised. This does not give you any other right in them. If you give us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.

  15. 15. Privacy

    How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy Notice at https://wasific.com.au/privacy. By using Verexa you acknowledge that notice.

  16. 16. Service availability

    We aim to keep Verexa available, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of delay. Outages, maintenance, network problems and third-party failures can occur. Institutions should have contingency arrangements for assessments in case of disruption.

  17. 17. Maintenance, updates and service changes

    We may perform maintenance, release updates and change, add or remove features. Some changes, including updating the Verexa Secure Browser, may be needed to keep using an assessment. Where a change is material and we can reasonably do so, we will give notice.

  18. 18. Suspension and termination

    We may suspend or end access, in whole or part, where reasonably necessary to protect the service, users or others; where you or your institution breach these Terms; where the law requires; or where an institution's agreement ends. You may stop using Verexa at any time, and an institution may deactivate its users. Clauses that by their nature should continue (including those on content, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability and governing law) survive. What happens to information is described in the Privacy Notice and any agreement with the institution.

  19. 19. Third-party services and integrations

    Verexa works with third-party services, such as Google sign-in, learning-management systems like Canvas, email delivery, hosting and AI model providers. Their use is subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for services we do not operate or control, or for what an institution's own systems do.

  20. 20. Security limitations

    We use reasonable measures to protect Verexa, but no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Verexa strengthens exam controls and gives staff evidence to review, but it cannot guarantee that cheating or unauthorised assistance cannot occur, or that every breach of academic integrity will be detected. Devices, networks and environments are outside our control.

  21. 21. Disclaimers

    To the extent the law permits, Verexa and this website are provided “as is” and “as available”, and we give no warranty that Verexa will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that it will prevent or detect any particular misconduct, or that its use will satisfy an institution's legal, regulatory or policy obligations. Descriptions of Verexa on this website are general information about what it is designed to do; they are not a warranty, specification or contractual commitment.

  22. 22. Limitation of liability

    To the extent the law permits, and subject to the next clause, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill, data or opportunity, arising out of the use of or inability to use Verexa or this website. Where the law allows us to limit our liability for a breach of a guarantee or other non-excludable right, our liability is limited, at our option, to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again. Where an institution has a separate written agreement with us, any liability limit in that agreement applies instead for that institution.

  23. 23. Australian Consumer Law

    Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right, guarantee or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified. If you are a consumer, our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under that law.

  24. 24. Indemnity (institutions)

    An institution that uses Verexa agrees to indemnify us for loss, damage and reasonable costs that we incur because of a claim by a third party arising from the institution's breach of these Terms, its unlawful use of Verexa, or its content infringing a third party's rights, except to the extent caused by our own breach, negligence or wilful misconduct. This clause does not apply to students or to individuals using Verexa as consumers.

  25. 25. Website

    You may browse this website and use its contact, pilot and download links for their intended purpose: learning about our products, getting in touch, and downloading the Verexa Secure Browser installer. Contact and pilot links open your own email application. The website links to other sites and services, including the GitHub release page that hosts the Verexa Secure Browser installer, and we are not responsible for external sites we do not operate. This website also describes Seviact, which is provided under its own agreement and is not governed by these Terms.

  26. 26. General

    We may update these Terms. The effective date shows when the current version began, and continued use after a change means you accept it. If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest continues. A failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent. These Terms, together with any separate written agreement with an institution, are the whole agreement about Verexa use.
